Pinewood Derby Time

Yes it is that time of year again. When we see how fast (or slow) that car design will go. This year Matt and Doug decided to make a truck. Matt picked out the one he wanted to do and Doug did it. Matt did help with the sanding and paint color, but because the truck was so heavy Doug spent many an hour with a wood chisel trying to take weight out. It turned out really cool looking, but we learned an important lesson. Trucks are not built for speed. They may haul great and when you get that powerful engine in them, they may move pretty fast. But going down an incline with no engine, not so much. Matt did receive a ribbon for the design and was very pleased with it. Although, he is determined to do all his own work next year which is great since Nate will also be making one at the same time and need lots of Daddy help.

So cool. Cannon can't wait to start scouts when he turns 8 this summer!

Your comment about my girls was so sweet...and I think the same about your boys. (As a mother, aren't we always looking for the ones we want our kids to end up marrying?)

And your comment about your boys feeling bad for girls who don't have enough money to fully clothe themselves - hilarious! I laughed out loud.

I hope the housing/selling/moving situation is progressing the best it can...given all that is going on. I miss our daily chats at the gym and at church!
